The Blame Game

Is it just me or does everyone nowadays need to find someone to blame for all their
problems. My main reason for posting this is because of all the stories about video
games causing violence.
The fact of the matter is violence in children can be stopped by the parents.
Throughout our history people have been blaming many things for violence. Often times
these things blamed are a new aspect in our culture and therefore misunderstood by
the older generation. The first thing blamed was music. Whatever new from of music
came to be it was blamed for violence and aggression in youth.
Metal violence:
When it comes to heavy metal, people typically either love it, or hate it. The heart-pounding drum beats combined with aggressive and raw lyrics is the recipe for a style of music that's been at the center of controversy for years.
After Heavy metal became more popular Movies became the next target of this blame.
Movies were now the target of this angry mob of blame. They began blaming movies
for their easily imitative violence and popular use of guns in action movies.
Kids are drawn to movies with scary themes, and watching "slasher" films is a rite of passage for teens and even younger kids. But being steadily exposed to violent images from an early age can have a lasting effect on young children. Studies have shown that 26 per cent of adults still have "residual anxiety" many years after viewing horror movies in childhood.
The whole point I'm trying to get across is the fact that violence in children is
preventable. How is this you ask? It's quite simple really. BE A PARENT!!! Honestly
the fact that a lot of people who are parents do not show their children the
difference from right and wrong and teach them moral values. When children are
molded correctly by their parents there is not anything that can break that mold.
And the fact is that there will always be something new blamed for the inability of
those who cannot be parents.
