Graffiti As a Public Service?

It is very difficult to picture New York City without graffiti. The countless security gates provide a very popular canvass for graffiti writers to claim for themselves. Gates are so popular amongst graffiti writers that they become way too crowded leaving no space for other writers to leave their mark.

A popular artist named Espo from Coney Island figured out a very smart way to put his name up without much conflict with the other graffiti writers, while keeping the regular people of the city content.

Much of Espo's work is found on gates. He has a very distinct style than others. Most of his work is done in large block letters that cover the entire surface, such as the example above. The fact that the his letters are so bold allows him to paint the entire surface with one bucket of paint allowing him to work in daylight. The letters are formed by very few simple lines making it quick and clean after he has painted the surface one solid color. Much of his work is often left untouched by the store's owners because of its much cleaner look.

Acro

There has been a writer that has been all over orange county. I first noticed him when I was driving to my girl friends house in monroe. It was a big throw-up on two truck trailers. (Right Down there)

Ever since I saw this throw-up, Acro's name has been following me around everywhere. I have seen his name all over from 17m and Dolson Ave. all the way to the Galleria Mall. I looked him up over the internet and found a lot of his work

Graffiti Blogs

I just got an 8oz black bottle of this liquid crack in the mail with two oink ink empty mini mops, and an empty 4oz wide body mop with a mo-hair nib (This nib is serious!) the other night off of www.oinkartltd.com . There is a video about the ink that was added to their homepage last night, it is pretty cool, check it out!

This ink is reviewed all over youtube, and I always wondered if it lived up to all of the hype. Oink ink is said to bleed through multiple layers of oil-based paints and almost impossible to buff. It comes in the original black, green, blue, and red. The only color that is UV protected (Will never fade in the sun) is the original black. The black ink is very opaque and has a nice blue tint due to a chemical called methalyene blue that is sure to leave a crazy ghost if buffed. I buff tested the ink at my house and it performed very well. (I also spilled it all over my sneakers too by accident lol :( ) So far, I give this ink a big thumbs up even though i still have yet to bomb with it.

I know, my blog sucks right now.. But I will be taking pictures of local stuff and everything as soon as this thing gets going a bit.
