The most recent leg of the formula drift series took place the second weekend of may at the Road Atlanta track in Georgia. The second stop for formula drift was the 2.54 mile, tweleve turn track has been a stop on the drifting circuit since back in 2004.

The competition was a 12 round head to head match up. The top 32 drivers took to the course on May 8th for the finals. Darren McNamera and Ryan Tuerck took 2nd and 3rd place respectivly, while Chris Forsburg brought home a 1st place win with his Nissan 350z.

The 2nd annual Ultimate Boarder Contest took place in Ventura California. This contest tested the limits of some of the worlds top action sports athletes. The coordinators of the event tested the limits of surfing, skate boarding, and surfing over 7 days of competition with solo results as well as a team champion at the end of the week.

The first day of the event athletes took to the slopes at Bear Mountain for a 65 competitor 1 day slope-style event. Kurt Wastell took the top spot in the first event of the week. Followed up by Shayne Pospisll and Chad Shetler, respectively.

Next the athletes would paddle out for the surf leg of the competition. This was at the legendary C-Street beach in Ventura. ASP rules were in effect for the judging of this portion. The leader at the end of the two round jam, Gabe Garcia took first place. Followed closely by John Florence and Ricky Whitlock.

The final section of the competition ensued at the Ventura County Fairgrounds for a two day vert competition. Omar Hassan blew out the competition and took first place. The list showed Chad Shetler and Aaron Astorga rounding out the top three.

By the end of the week Chad Shetler was crowned the Ultimate Boarder as well as Team Hosoi which was made up of Bjorne Leines, Tom Curren, and Christian Hosoi. This progressive event is getting better each year.
Joel Parkinson has taken the first two wins on the ASP(Association of Surfing Professionals) world circuit. Parko seems to have his eyes on the coveted ASP World Title after taking out all competition in these first two events and getting ready to descend upon the Billibong Pro Tahiti.
The Billibong Pro tahiti was scheduled to take off yesterday Monday May 13, but due to the lack of surf has been postponed these two past days.
Currently the Aussies have the top two spots on the circuit with Joel Parkinson leading all by a large margin of nearly 800 points with 2,400 points. Next on the list is Mick Fanning with 1608 points, and the Hawaiian, Fredrick Patacchia, rounded out the top three with 1476.

An exciting world cup ensued the mountains of France the first weekend of may. All the top riders were there and the top 7 riders were separated by less than 5 seconds. It was a technical downhill course with three racers not able to complete the course.
Steve Peat represented the Santa Cruz Syndicate with the top time of 2:10.37 and clocking in at 59 mph. Gee Atherton was not far behind coming in a 2:10.74 atop his Animal Commencal rig. At 2:11.47 the third rider to come in was Michael Hannah riding for GT bikes.

The Association of Freeskiing Professionals has released its results for the 2008/09 season.

In super-pipe, tanner hall, took the crown this year blowing away the competition with 3140 points. Justin Dorey and Simon Dumont rounded out the top three respectively.
A new phenom has broken through the polls this year with Tom Wallisch taking the top spot. Henrik Harlout and Sammy Carlson also had a successful year on the competition circuit.
Lastly the Big Air leader was PK Hunder coming out of Norway and going HUGE all year long. Jacob Wester and Russel Henshaw took 2nd and 3rd.
A lot of new names on this years leader boards really shows how to sport is progressing and new kids pushing the envelope day after day.
